The Cumbria Life Food & Drink Awards 2018 have now been and gone, and we wanted to add a little update on the results. The event itself was a wonderful celebration of some amazing Cumbrian businesses, and we felt honoured to have been included in such fantastic company! We were absolutely thrilled to be finalists and enjoyed a delicious three course meal cooked by local catering students, before the moment of truth arrived. Presented by food critic Jay Rayner, a huge congratulations goes to Homeground Cafe and Chesters By The River, who were joint winners in our category!
Thank you for all your support - we couldn't have done it without you.
This January, we received some very exciting news: we've been nominated for a Cumbria Life Food & Drink Award 2018! Our fantastic Garden Café is in the running for Best Café, and we couldn't be more thrilled. Thank you to everyone who nominated us and for your continued support throughout the year. We're in good company with some fantastic Cumbrian cafes also nominated, but we're keeping our fingers crossed! The awards take place on March 22 at Kendal College – we can't wait, and will be sure to keep you updated on the result.
Our Garden Cafe is a bustling hub of delicious eats, great coffee, and light, bright spaces. Our seasonal menu is prepared with love by our dedicated team of chefs and bakers, with an emphasis on tasty home-made dishes which fill the stomach and warm the soul. Whether for a hearty lunch made with local, seasonal produce; or a coffee with friends (plus a few mouth-watering cakes, baked in house!), we pride ourselves on offering a relaxed and friendly space in which to take a few moments to unwind over good food and drink.
We'd like to say a huge thank you to all our wonderful customers for your continued support throughout the year, and to our brilliant Garden Cafe team.
