Tree Nursery

Trees are a fantastic way of adding long term structure to any outdoor space, and here at Beetham Nurseries, we have a fantastic selection of native trees for your outdoor spaces. Our largest range of trees are available in the spring and autumn, but we have many trees available all year round.

Tree Species Available in our Tree Nursery

The four most common trees we have in our tree nursery are Betula (Silver Birch), Malus (Crab Apple), Prunus (Ornamental Cherries) and Sorbus (Rowan or Mountain Ash). We stock extensive varieties of these trees.

In addition, throughout the year, we will have many others, including Fagus (Beech), Liquid Amber (Sweet Gum), Laburnum, Quercus (Oak), Robinia (Locust) and Salix (Willow).

Finding the Right Tree for Your Garden

It can be hard to know which tree will work best for your garden with such a variety available. One of the most likely considerations is the amount of space you have available and what wildlife you are looking to attract from your trees. For example, Silver Birch trees can reach up to 25m and offer elegant, drooping branches and are often the preferred home for woodpeckers and other hole-nesting birds. On the other hand, Crab Apple trees only grow to around 10m and will provide lots of crab apples for birds and other wildlife to eat. You can also cook the apples to make preserves, desserts and more.

You will also need to consider the environmental conditions of your garden and what your chosen tree will need. Mountain Ash and Rowan trees will grow anywhere, whereas ornamental cherry trees, or cherry blossom trees as they are sometimes known, can grow in most soils and positions.

If you are unsure which variety of trees would be best for your space, don't hesitate to ask a member of our plants team, who will be very happy to help and assist you.
