Cafe Assistants

Full Time and Part Time

We are looking for friendly, motivated people over the age of 16 to join our busy catering team.

Roles & Responsibilities 

  • This is a customer facing role and as a result customer service is key! 
  • You'll ensure that the cafe is kept clean, tidy and well organised at all times.

About You  

  • You are personable with excellent communication skills.
  • You're happy to work as part of a close-knit team, as well as being confident, working independently and on your own initiative.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is a bonus, however not essential as full training will be provided.

Hours  

Full and part time, including weekend work.

Marketing (Full & Part Time)

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone creative to join our small marketing team at Beetham Nurseries.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • The production of marketing materials and literature.
  • Updating the Garden Centreʼs social media accounts in line with our house style
  • Taking photographs weekly for the use on social media
  • Writing articles and promotional material for the company.
  • Preparing interesting written copy for our website.
  • Uploading marketing material to online libraries, internet groups and social media sites.
  • Updating and maintaining the Marketing Department's documentation and databases.
  • Managing and organising events as well as providing support for existing events as required.
  • Ensuring that brand identity and consistency is adhered to at all times; both visually and through written tone of voice.

About You

  • A degree in a related subject (creative, marketing or otherwise), not essential but an advantage.
  • Experience in a similar role, not essential but an advantage.
  • Personable, presentable and articulate.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Sound understanding of marketing principles.
  • Strong copywriting skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas.
  • You will be creative as well as computer proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and Photoshop, illustrator
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • You will have an understanding of GDPR.
  • Strong visual skills, confident photographer with knowledge of producing videos a bonus
  • You will be self motivated and able to work well on your own, as well as be able to follow direction as part of a team.

Outdoor Plant & Nursery Assistants

Part time seasonal positions are now available in our outdoor plant and nursery team. Plants are our passion, and if you share this, we would like to hear from you. 

About You

  • You should be physically fit since the plant trollies, tables and pots are heavy 
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Whilst plant knowledge is desirable, an interest in plants is absolutely essential, as is enthusiasm and motivation. 
  • You will come into daily contact with our customers, so you will be personable and have good communication skills.
  • Computer skills would be an advantage, in order to research answers to some customer queries.

Once initial training is complete, you will be expected to work unsupervised and on your own initiative.

Chef

We are looking for an experienced Chef to join our friendly catering team.

Roles & Responsibilities 

Working closely with and reporting directly to the Catering Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Food production for our busy cafe and food shop.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene, health and safety.
  • Ordering and stock control.
  • Maintaining high standards of presentation at all times.

About You 

  • You will hold a minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • You will have creative flair when it comes to designing menus.
  • You will have a pro-active driven attitude towards work and performance.
  • You will have a real passion for producing fresh food at a high standard.
  • You will be professional and approachable and work well as part of a team.
  • Your communication skills will be excellent.
  • You will be experienced in working in a busy kitchen.
  • You will have an understanding of costings, GP, P&L's and stock control.
  • You will be flexible and willing to adapt in a fast changing environment.

Hours

Full time position, 7.30am - 4pm, 5 days a week including some weekend work. No split shifts.

​Part Time (Weekend) General Retail Assistant

We are looking for a friendly, motivated person over the age of 16, to join our indoor retail team.

Roles & Responsibilities  

  • This is a customer facing role, and as a result customer service is key! 
  • You will be dealing with queries and requests both in person and over the phone, as well as working on the tills. 
  • You'll ensure that the shop floor is kept clean, tidy and well organised at all times.

About You  

  • You are personable with strong communication skills, as you will be in daily contact with our customers. 
  • You will be strong and fit, as you will be required to help our customers take heavy items to their vehicles. 
  • You're happy to work as part of a close-knit team, as well as being confident working independently and on your own initiative. 
  • Previous retail experience is a bonus, however not essential – we will focus on your character and skills.

Hours

Part time weekend work 9.00am - 5.30pm Saturday and Sunday 10am - 4,30pm.
