Fused Glass Flower Canes Workshop
Join Roxy Denny from RD Glass and spend 3 hours learning how to make your own fused glass flower canes. Learn a new skill and have fun being creative with hands-on instruction and freedom to create your own designs.
In this workshop, you will learn how to score and break sheet glass and decorate your work with crushed glass frit, rods, powders and wafers. Roxy will demonstrate her own work and then support you as you choose colours and designs to make your own unique pieces of glass art! You will be making up to three flower canes, depending on the complexity of your designs. We recommend looking at images for inspiration before the class, to help to give you a starting point.
Your work will then be carefully transported to Roxy’s studio, where it will be fired in a glass kiln and finally be returned to Beetham Nurseries for you to collect. This will be around 2 - 3 weeks after the class date. Alternatively, postage is available at a cost of £5, payable to Roxy on the day. All materials are included in the course fee.
Glass is sharp by nature and small cuts are a possibility. Safety glasses are provided but please ensure that you are wearing closed shoes for this workshop. Age 16+ unless otherwise agreed.
The details
This workshop will take place on our Terrace (to the right of The Garden Cafe) in our marquee. It is heated on cooler days, but please wear suitable clothing.
Your ticket price includes tea, coffee, and a sweet treat.
Seating in the Marquee consists of wooden chairs, so you may wish to bring a cushion for added comfort.

On arrival at the workshop, you will be given a 10% discount voucher valid for the day of your workshop. So don’t forget to make the most of some shopping time before or after your workshop!
Please note the voucher cannot be used against Garden Furniture, in The Garden Cafe, or The Food Hall.
