Orchid Day 2026
If you want to build your confidence as an orchid owner, then this is the event for you!
We are delighted to be welcoming back Chelsea Gold Medal Winners, Burnham Nurseries for 2026. This family-run nursery based in South Devon have been specialists in growing Orchids for 70 years, offering the widest range of Orchids in the UK. They will be bringing their extensive knowledge, as well as a large selection of rare and unusual Orchids to us here at Beetham Nurseries, for this very special event. Enjoy chatting to them, asking questions, and purchasing from their fantastic selection.
Rare and special orchids
Burnham Nurseries will bring their unusual and hard-to-find orchid species to display and purchase. Collectors will love the chance to get something unique! We will also have a large range of orchids on display.
Learn from the experts in ‘The Wonderful World of Orchids’ talk
Join us at 2pm on Saturday 10th January for a talk by Sara Rittershausen all about ‘The Wonderful World of Orchids’. This free talk will introduce you to this fantastic and unique plant. Find out how to care for different orchid varieties, including tips on watering, feeding, and repotting, as well as how to deal with common pests and problems.
If you have specific questions or queries about growing your own Orchids, there will be a Q&A session at the end, and Sara and her team will be here all day.
Repotting clinic
If you have Orchids at home that need a little care and attention, bring them along to our Repotting Clinic which will be available from 9am - 5pm.
KingSharp is back for 2026
KingSharp is also joining us on Saturday 10th January from 10am. Find KingSharp at the entrance door to Beetham Nurseries in the car park. Operating from his fully-fitted van, KingSharp can sharpen almost anything with a blade! Bring along kitchen knives, household scissors, professional scissors, garden and home tools and more and have them sharpened whilst browsing The Garden Centre, or enjoy a drink, cake or even lunch in The Garden Café. Prices start from £2.
Make a day of it...
As always, The Garden Café & The Wood Fired Kitchen will both be open for delicious breakfasts, brunch, lunch, light bites and home-baked cakes and sweet treats, as well as warming drinks.
