Pumpkin Growing Challenge 2024

Pumpkin Growing Challenge 2024

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener, passionate vegetable grower or a beginner just starting out, we invite you to take on our vegetable growing challenge of 2024… Pumpkins!

Sponsored by Robinson Seed & Plants, we are offering growers across the region seeds for Pumpkin - 'Big Max' to nurture and grow the biggest pumpkin you can.

The competition will be judged as part of our Apple Weekend celebrations on Saturday 5th October 2024 where each pumpkin will be judged on weight.

How to Take Part

If you'd like to accept our challenge to see who can grow the heaviest pumpkin, all you need to do is head into store and collect your seeds from the 1st of March at the Information Desk. But don't leave it too long, we have a limited number of seeds!

You will need to leave your contact details with us so we are able to contact you with details of the competition and a reminder when you need to bring your pumpkin in.

You'll then have the spring and summer season to nurture your seeds into plants, and grow the largest and heaviest pumpkin you can!

We ask all participants to bring in their pumpkin for judging between Saturday 28th September and Friday 4th October 2024, ready to be judged on Saturday 5th October as part of our Apple Weekend celebration.

So, if you think you're up to the 2024 challenge, come and pick up your seeds and get growing!
