Could your design become part of our Christmas Shop in 2027? We’re inviting artists, creatives and Christmas enthusiasts of all ages to take part in an exciting competition to design a Fair2Trade Christmas bauble, which will be brought to life and sold at Beetham Nurseries next year.
This is a wonderful opportunity to see your creativity transformed into something truly special, while supporting talented artisans and helping to make a positive difference through fair trade.
From your design to a hand-painted bauble
The winning design will be brought to life by skilled artisans in Kashmir, where each bauble will be hand-painted. By choosing Fair2Trade products, we can help support a fair-trade economy that values the skill, creativity and craftsmanship of the people who make them.
Your design could become part of someone’s Christmas traditions, a treasured decoration brought out year after year, or a thoughtful gift for someone special. Imagine visiting our Christmas Shop in 2027 and seeing 200 baubles featuring your very own design!
What could you create?
We’re looking for designs that will translate beautifully onto a Christmas bauble. You could take inspiration from the natural world, seasonal foliage, woodland creatures, traditional Christmas motifs or a favourite pattern. Whether your style is playful and colourful, delicate and botanical, or bold and contemporary, we’d love to see your ideas. Keep your design simple. Clear illustrations and repeating patterns work particularly well for hand-painted decorations.
Please avoid including any text or numbers, so that the finished bauble can focus entirely on your artwork. You don’t need to be a professional artist to enter. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the most effective, and we’re excited to see the variety of designs that our community comes up with.
What will the winner receive?
As well as the excitement of seeing your design transformed into a real product, there are some lovely rewards for our winning designer:
- 200 baubles featuring your design will be produced for sale in the Beetham Nurseries Christmas Shop in 2027.
- Two free baubles featuring your winning design will be yours to keep or give as gifts, plus you'll receive a discount on any additional ones you'd like to purchase.
- In the spirit of giving, we'll make a donation to a charity of your choice, giving you the opportunity to support a cause that means something to you.
It’s a chance to combine creativity with a meaningful contribution, helping to support both the artisans who hand-paint the baubles and a charity close to your heart.
Open to all ages – from 1 to 100 and beyond! We believe creativity has no age limit, so this competition is open to everyone. Whether you’re a young artist trying out your first design, a keen crafter with years of experience, or simply someone with a festive idea to share, we’d love you to get involved.
