Part Time / Permanent contracted position. Salary dependent on experience.

We are looking for an experienced passionate Chef to join our friendly catering team.

Joining our fast-paced, friendly and ambitious kitchen in The Garden Cafe will enable you to work sociable hours directly under our Head Chef, with a focus on work/life balance, in a forward-thinking environment. You will use local produce and the best ingredients to create and serve our extremely popular menus to the highest standards.

Here at Beetham Nurseries, our food & drink offering in The Garden Cafe offers daily breakfasts, lunches and light bites. The Wood Fired Kitchen offers all this, plus Neapolitan-style pizzas from our traditional wood-fired oven. This extensive offering makes us one of the area’s leading hospitality establishments, and we are looking for a brand-new chef to join our exciting team.

Roles & Responsibilities

Working closely with and reporting directly to the Catering Manager & Head Chef, you will be responsible for:

  • Food production for The Garden Cafe, Wood Fired Kitchen and the terrace
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene, health and safety
  • Ordering and stock control
  • Maintaining high standards of presentation at all times

About You

  • You will have a real passion for producing fresh food at a high standard
  • You will be professional and approachable and work well as part of a team
  • Your communication skills will be excellent
  • You will be experienced in working in a busy kitchen
  • Chef: 1 year (preferred)

Schedule

  • Part-time, permanent contract with 32 hours a week- perfect for someone looking for that work / life balance
  • Daytime shifts - 7.30am - 4pm
  • Working 4 days - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, plus another day which can be discussed
  • No overtime
  • No split shifts
  • 28 days holiday (pro rata) with New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day off
  • Salary dependent on experience
  • Work location: In person
