Floral Lino Print Workshop

Join printmaker Sue Leech for an inspirational and creative printmaking workshop on the theme of flowers.

Using soft cut lino and textured paper you will create a series of bold and colourful floral prints. No experience is needed as you will be guided through the process step by step and given individual advice.

In the morning, you will create and cut out your design. The afternoon will be devoted to printing your design with lots of opportunity to experiment with over-laying colours and textures. This technique does not require a printing press so could easily be repeated at home. Sue will provide all the images you need to work from but you are welcome to bring your own photos or drawings if you wish.

Equipment

All equipment will be provided, but please bring an apron or old shirt to protect your clothes.

We will be printing with oil based inks and using vegetable oil and washing up liquid for cleaning up. No solvents will be used. Disposable gloves will be available if required.

About Sue Leech

Sue Leech is a printmaker based in Grange-over-Sands on the edge of the Lake District. From her studio overlooking Morecambe Bay, Sue creates limited-edition prints using linocut, collagraph and mono-print. Colour, texture and pattern are all key components in her work and contribute to her bold, illustrative style. Subjects are wide-ranging, although plants do feature extensively - often sourced from her own garden. Sue Leech is a member of Cumbria Printmakers.

The details

This workshop will take place on our Terrace (to the right of The Garden Cafe) in our marquee. It is heated on cooler days, but please wear suitable clothing.

Your ticket price includes tea, coffee, lunch, and a sweet treat. 

Seating in the Marquee consists of wooden chairs, so you may wish to bring a cushion for added comfort.

When buying online, your tickets will be emailed to you. You don't need to print the ticket as we will have your booking when we check you in. On arrival at the workshop, you will be given a 10% discount voucher valid for the day of your workshop. So don’t forget to make the most of some shopping time before or after your workshop!

Please note the voucher cannot be used for future workshop bookings, garden furniture, in The Garden Cafe, or The Food Hall. Reclaimed items are discounted on a case-by-case basis.
