Designing a Wildlife-Friendly Cottage Garden
This practical workshop, with renowned horticulturalist Marguerite Hughes, will illustrate how plan & design a Cottage Garden for long term interest & the key methods to attract wildlife to your garden throughout the year. It will cover the key plants & site enhancements to achieve this including hardy plant suggestions for borders for long term seasonal interest. It will also highlight the benefits of gardening with wildlife including extending seasonal interest, natural pest control, visual benefits, wildlife habitat protection and development and pollination benefits.
The last 30 minutes of the session will allow for summary, round up & Q&A.
All you need to bring with you on the day is a notebook & pen. You will be given handouts relevant to the workshop to take home. There will be lots of opportunities during the day to handle materials referred to during the sessions. The workshop is very interactive & there will be regular intervals where you can ask questions about the topics explored in the workshop & how they relate to your garden.
The details
This workshop will take place on our Terrace (to the right of The Garden Cafe) in our marquee. It is heated on cooler days, but please wear suitable clothing.
Your ticket price includes tea, coffee, lunch, and a sweet treat.
Seating in the Marquee consists of wooden chairs, so you may wish to bring a cushion for added comfort.
