Late & Long Flowering Perennials & Bulbs Masterclass
An informative & practical workshop with the renowned horticulturist Marguerite Hughes, this workshop will explain & illustrate how to plan & design herbaceous borders to be at their peak from late Summer to Late Autumn with a focus on late-flowering & long-flowering perennials & bulbs. The workshop will recommend both key plants & the planting techniques for achieving success. Amongst the plants highlighted during the sessions will be Dahlias, Crocosmias, Cannas, Nerines & other Summer & Autumn flowering bulbs & hardy perennials such as Asters, Rudbeckias, Heleniums, Persicarias, Monardas & Acteas. There will be lots of practical advice on the best methods of combining plants for long seasonal interest, including the best sites for such plants & the best long flowering perennials.
The last 30 minutes of the session will allow for summary, round up & Q&A.
All you need to bring with you on the day is a notebook & pen. You will be given handouts relevant to the workshop to take home. There will be lots of opportunities during the day to handle materials referred to during the sessions. The workshop is very interactive & there will be regular intervals where you can ask questions about the topics explored in the workshop & how they relate to your garden.
The details
This workshop will take place on our Terrace (to the right of The Garden Cafe) in our marquee. It is heated on cooler days, but please wear suitable clothing.
Your ticket price includes tea, coffee, lunch, and a sweet treat.
Seating in the Marquee consists of wooden chairs, so you may wish to bring a cushion for added comfort.
