Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day is just around the corner, which means it's time to find the perfect gift for your mum, step-mum, a mother-to-be, grandmother, or whoever the special person is in your life, that you would like to spoil on the 27th March.

While a thoughtful card or her favourite flowers will always please, there are a few other choices that might also go down well in a time when the home has become central – an indulgent bath oil, a mood-lifting scented candle or a pair of cosy cotton socks, for example. Remember: good gifting isn't about how much you spent but how much thought you put into the gift. Here's to mum!

Whether you're looking for an experience, flowers, luxury bath and body gifts, tasty artisan treats or new gardening tools, we've got it all covered at Beetham Nurseries. So, if you need some inspiration, have a read of our Mother's Day gift guide.

A Day Out at Beetham Nurseries

We might be biased, but we think a trip to our garden centre in Kendal is the perfect Mother's Day treat. March is a fantastic time to visit Beetham Nurseries, as the Growing Nursery has reopened. You'll be able to see the first blooms of spring, stroll around our specialised growing area and pick up unusual plants, all of which have been grown on-site at Beetham Nurseries. Of course, our expert gardeners are on hand if you or your mum have any questions about any of the plants in the Growing Nursery.

Venture into the main garden centre and visit The Food Hall, where can you browse locally sourced luxury food and drink before heading to The Garden Café for a bite to eat. We're always serving up delicious homemade cakes, and if you join us before 3pm, you can get a hearty lunch or light bite – depending on how hungry you are!

Crafting Workshops

If you want to gift your mum an experience she won't forget, why not book a place on one of our upcoming 2022 workshops? We've got tons of events planned for The Terrace, which are all hosted by professionals and give attendees the chance to watch, learn, and try their hand at a new skill. Classes will take place in our new marquee, so you don't have to worry about rain, and many of the ticket prices include drinks, a freshly prepared lunch and homemade sweet treats. Places are subject to availability, so we recommend booking soon to secure the workshop you think mum would like the most. Choose from:

3rd April – Floral Basket Arranging

5th April – Weave Your Own Sweet Pea Obelisk

28th April – Create Your Own Fresh Spring Wreath

5th May – Making the Most of Your Garden

12th May – Planning and Designing a Cottage Garden

14th May – Spring Botanical Calligraphy

26th May – Needle Felt a Spring Hare

We've also planned some wonderful Easter-themed workshops; head over to our events page to find out everything you need to know. Workshops are subject to availability.
