Climbers for Every Season Masterclass
An informative & practical workshop with the renowned horticulturist Marguerite Hughes, where you will discover everything you need to know about growing climbers of every type, including clematis, roses, honeysuckles, wisteria, passionflowers & annual & tender climbers. There will be recommendations for different garden sites, including shade, wet or dry areas & exposed sites. The workshop will also illustrate how you can achieve interest in your garden in every season with climbers. You will discover how to select, plant & choose the right climber & how to grow them on walls, fences, arches, obelisks & through trees & shrubs. There will be guidance on their aftercare, including pruning, propagation & top planting combinations with other plants for long-term interest.
The last 30 minutes of the session will allow for summary, round up & Q&A.
All you need to bring with you on the day is a notebook & pen. You will be given handouts relevant to the workshop to take home. There will be lots of opportunities during the day to handle materials referred to during the sessions. The workshop is very interactive & there will be regular intervals where you can ask questions about the topics explored in the workshop & how they relate to your garden.
The details
This workshop will take place on our Terrace (to the right of The Garden Cafe) in our marquee. It is heated on cooler days, but please wear suitable clothing.
Your ticket price includes tea, coffee, lunch, and a sweet treat. Lunch will be included if you book onto both of the day's workshops.
Seating in the Marquee consists of wooden chairs, so you may wish to bring a cushion for added comfort.
