Composting, Soil Improving & Organic Gardening
This workshop will introduce you to the principles of organic gardening and home composting. It will include hints and tips on creating compost & leaf mould, how to create a compost area, good and bad additions, and the benefits of composting. It will also explain soil improvements, including organic manures, mulches and leaf moulds. There will be an outline and explanation of organic gardening and its benefits, including companion planting.
The last 30 minutes of the session will allow for summary, round up & Q&A.
All you need to bring with you on the day is a notebook & pen. You will be given handouts relevant to the workshop to take home. There will be lots of opportunities during the day to handle materials referred to during the sessions. The workshop is very interactive & there will be regular intervals where you can ask questions about the topics explored in the workshop & how they relate to your garden.
The details
This workshop will take place on our Terrace (to the right of The Garden Cafe) in our marquee. It is heated on cooler days, but please wear suitable clothing.
Your ticket price includes tea, coffee, lunch, and a sweet treat.
Seating in the Marquee consists of wooden chairs, so you may wish to bring a cushion for added comfort.
