Enjoy learning the art of beautiful, playful lettering with a dippy ink pot and old fashioned calligraphy nibs, in this Absolute Beginners Modern Calligraphy Workshop at Beetham Nurseries.
Included in the ticket price is a little gift boxed calligraphy kit for you to take home. You’ll get to keep your own pen and nib, ink and motivational quote to take home!
Our friendly and experienced modern calligraphy tutor Claire will introduce you to dip pens and nibs, showing you how to get the best out of your tools! You’ll begin by writing swoops and swirls and as you become comfortable with the calligraphy nib you’ll learn easy letters and playful techniques for beautiful lettering. Absolute beginners and those who’ve done a little calligraphy before are very, very welcome - and we’re sure you’ll enjoy learning the art of lettering!
Please wear clothes suitable for crafting, as the black ink we use can stain clothes. Remember reading glasses if you need them!
The Details
This workshop will take place on our Terrace (to the right of The Garden Cafe) in our Marquee. Please wear suitable clothing, although it is heated on cooler days. Your ticket price includes tea, coffee, and a home-baked sweet treat. Seating in the Marquee is metal chairs or benches, so you may wish to bring a cushion to sit on.

When buying online, your tickets will be emailed to you, which you do not need to print prior to arrival. On arrival at the workshop, you will be given a ticket which acts as a 10% voucher whilst you’re here with us on the day of your workshop. So don’t forget to make the most of some shopping time before or after your workshop!
Please note the voucher cannot be used against Garden Furniture, in The Garden Cafe, or The Food Hall.
