Spring Bulbs Masterclass
This masterclass, with renowned horticulturalist Marguerite Hughes, covers how to make the best use of spring bulbs in your garden, both in beds & borders & containers. There will be tips & recommendations on the best bulbs for different sites; how to effectively combine bulbs in mixed borders for successional flowering; information on scented & lesser-known bulbs & choosing & planting bulbs. You will discover all you need to know to get the most from tulips & narcissus.
The workshop will include a practical session where Marguerite will plant up containers including a layered 'Lasagne Bulb Pot', Bulbs Pots for Early Flowering & a Scented Bulb Pot for Long Seasonal Interest.
Marguerite will also explain how to create a range of bulb pots & supply recipes so you can have a go at home.
The last 30 minutes of the session will allow for summary, round up & Q&A.
All you need to bring with you on the day is a notebook & pen. You will be given handouts relevant to the workshop to take home. There will be lots of opportunities during the day to handle materials referred to during the sessions. The workshop is very interactive & there will be regular intervals where you can ask questions about the topics explored in the workshop & how they relate to your garden.
The details
This workshop will take place on our Terrace (to the right of The Garden Cafe) in our marquee. It is heated on cooler days, but please wear suitable clothing.
Your ticket price includes tea, coffee, lunch, and a sweet treat.
Seating in the Marquee consists of wooden chairs, so you may wish to bring a cushion for added comfort.
