We are hiring! 

Our fantastic Catering Team is expanding; if you'd like to join a fast-paced and enthusiastic team, we are looking to fill the following full-time, permanent positions:

CHEF

Full Time / Permanent Position

We are looking for an experienced  passionate, food led and team focused Chef to join our friendly catering team.

Roles & Responsibilities 

Working closely with and reporting directly to the Catering Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Food production for The Garden Cafe, Wood Fired Kitchen and the new outdoor catering area. 
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene, health and safety.
  • Ordering and stock control.
  • Maintaining high standards of presentation at all times.

About You 

  • You will hold a minimum level 2 food hygiene certificate.
  • You will have creative flair when it comes to designing menus.
  • You will have a pro-active driven attitude towards work and performance.
  • You will have a real passion for producing fresh food at a high standard.
  • You will be professional and approachable and work well as part of a team.
  • Your communication skills will be excellent.
  • You will be experienced in working in a busy kitchen.
  • You will have an understanding of costings, GP, P&L's and stock control.
  • You will be flexible and willing to adapt in a fast changing environment.

Hours Full time position, 9am until 5.30pm to include a 30 minute unpaid break.

COMMIS CHEF

Full-time, Permanent

We are looking for a friendly, motivated person over the age of 16, to join our catering team.

The Commis Chef will be responsible for making sandwiches and salads and assisting other members of the kitchen team as required. Applicants should be hard working, reliable and have consistently great food production skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Some food knowledge and a desire to learn more.
  • Strong, positive and professional communications skills.
  • Good organisational skills and some understanding of cost control / minimising waste.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety and food hygiene.
  • A current basic food hygiene certificate.
  • Be able to follow hygiene procedures and keep records accordingly.

About You

  • You are personable with excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred, however not essential as full training will be provided.

Hours

Full time position, 7.30am - 4pm, 5 days a week including some weekend work. No split shifts.

CATERING ASSISTANTS

Full-time, Permanent

We are looking for friendly, motivated people over the age of 16 to join our busy catering team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • This is a customer facing role and as a result customer service is key!
  • You'll ensure that the cafe is kept clean, tidy and well organised at all times.

About You

  • You are personable with excellent communication skills.
  • You're happy to work as part of a close-knit team, as well as being confident, working independently and on your own initiative.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is a bonus, however not essential as full training will be provided.

Hours

Full and part time, including weekend work.

KITCHEN PORTER

Full-time, Permanent

We are looking for a full time Kitchen Porter over the age of 18 to work in our Garden Cafe.

Reporting to the Catering Managers, Supervisors & Duty Chefs. Appraised by the Catering Manager.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Washing dishes efficiently within a busy kitchen environment and keeping all breakages to a minimum.
  • Completing a daily cleaning rota and keeping written records as appropriate.
  • Assisting the front of house staff wherever necessary.
  • Emptying of bins and waste as necessary.
  • Assisting with putting delivery orders away and maintaining tidy storage areas.
  • Ensuring that any risk assessments are complied with.
  • Maintaining records as required by the Cafe Manager.
  • Complying with all health and safety regulations: HACCP, C.O.S.H.H. Regulations, fire policy and reporting hazards to the management.
  • Performing any other related duties that may be required by your manager or supervisor.

About You

  • You will have a strong focus on customer service.
  • You will be physically fit.
  • You will be able to adapt in a fast changing environment.
  • You will come into daily contact with our customers, so you will be personable and have good communication skills.

Hours Full time position, 9am until 5.30pm to include a 30 minute unpaid break.
